The Project Assistant Diploma has been designed to equip delegates with a range of skills and technical abilities to build a strong career as a Project Assistant. Project Assistant Diploma
The Diploma is structured across three key components:
1. Project Assistant Course
This is a two-day virtual classroom course delivered live by an experienced Project Management trainer. The training runs from 10:30 to 16:30 (UK time). It provides a practical overview of key project management terminology, frameworks and models. This will enable delegates to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for their Project Assistant careers. Below you can see the content of this module:

- Planning a project and the associated models

- Case studies of real-life project situations and how to deal with them.
Day Two
- An overview of PRINCE2
- An Overview of Project Management IT Software
- Closing off and the post-completion of the audit
- The learning organisation
- Controlling and Executing a Project
- Defining and researching the project: SWOT, Cost-Benefit Analysis and Objectives.
- Building a business case
- Using Gantt Charts, Critical Path Analysis and other methods to present project progress, monitor and control.
- In-depth review of Project Lifecycle
- Risk Management Strategies
- Critical Success Factors
- Project constraints
2. Microsoft Office Diploma for Project Assistants
This core module focuses on developing your proficiency in the essential software tools commonly used in project environments. It includes practical, hands-on training in:
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Outlook
- Office 365/Teams/SharePoint
These tools are essential for effective communication, reporting, scheduling, and general project coordination. This course is offered online and can be completed at a flexible pace.
3. Microsoft Project Module
This additional IT module covers Microsoft Project Online. The course is available online and can be completed on a flexible basis. Microsoft Project is one of the most widely used project management software programs available. Microsoft Project is not part of the core Microsoft Office suite. Still, it is one of the industry leaders in creating project plans, managing timelines, and tracking progress, this is vital IT skills for project support roles.
Dates and Duration
The Project Assistant Course is run on two consecutive days. A tutor delivers it in a virtual classroom from 10:30 to 16:30 UK Time. The start dates indicate when this module takes place.
The Microsoft Office Diploma and Microsoft Project Module are flexible online courses that can be started at any time. You can opt to start with these by selecting the flexible start option.
