Our Introduction to Administration Course offers the opportunity to develop a comprehensive set of introductory-level skills for office administration jobs. This course is ideal for people with limited or no experience in Office Administration. Anyone who feels that they have a higher level of skill or experience should start at our Level 3 – PA Course or Level 3 – Administration Course.

Introduction to Administration Course

Course Format

The course contains three main learning modules. The first one is a two-day virtual classroom course. This is focussed on office skills and is led by a PA and Office Administration trainer.  The other two modules include typing training course and our Microsoft Office Certificate for beginners.

  • Office Administration Foundation (2-Day Virtual Classroom Training on a fixed schedule):
    • Organisational Structures and job roles
    • Health and Safety
    • The Functions of the Office
    • The Duties of a junior secretary, office administrator
    • The functions of a Receptionist
    • Client care skills
    • How to develop Telephone etiquette and procedure
    • How to handle mail
    • Filing
    • Stationary Stock control
    • Telephone skills
    • Email and email management
    • Prioritising and time management
    • Proofreading skills
    • CV and career advice
  • Beginner Level Microsoft Office Certificate (this is an online course provided by Microsoft Platinum Partners)
    • Beginner Level Word
    • Beginner Level Excel
    • Beginner Level Outlook
  • Touch typing Certificate. (online flexible hours study course that requires 25wpm)

Dates and Duration

Microsoft Office Training is delivered on a flexible basis. The typing is also delivered on a flexible basis.

The Office Skills Foundation is delivered over two consecutive days; 10:30 to 16:30.
